Ak by som si mala vybrať jednu internetovú stránku, ktorá výrazne ovplyvnila moju identitu, rozhodne by som si zvolila setapartgirl.com. Narazila som na ňu pred takmer desiatimi rokmi úplne náhodne - a odvtedy som ju neprestala sledovať.

Vďaka stránke som sa zoznámila aj s Heather Cofer, výnimočnou ženou, ktorej riadky mi vždy dodávali odvahu, posilňovali ma na mojej ceste za Ježišom a pomáhali mi v časoch tiesne. Keď som sa dozvedela, že Heather vydáva knihu, bolo mi okamžite jasné, že si ju chcem prečítať medzi prvými.

Názov Heatherinej prvotiny je Expectant, ktorý by som poeticky preložila ako V očakávaní. Máte pravdu - týka sa tehotenstva. Hoci nie som (a ani som ešte nebola) tehotná, ako ženu ma toto výnimočné obdobie úprimne zaujíma. A vďaka knižke som sa toho dozvedela omnoho viac, než som očakávala.

Expectant rozoberá všetky aspekty života tehotnej ženy - od vzťahu s Bohom a manželom až po starostlivosť o zdravie či strach, ktorý môže žena cítiť vo zvýšenej miere práve pred pôrodom. Kniha je oveľa viac než len ďalšou teoretickou príručkou - v každej oblasti totiž ponúka množstvo praktických rád, vďaka ktorým prežijete tehotenstvo skutočne naplno. Rozhodne ju odporúčam všetkým tehotným mamičkám - no nielen im. Myslím, že z múdrosti, ktorú Expectant ponúka, môžu všetky ženy len získať.

If I had to choose just one website that significantly affected my identity, I would definitely choose setapartgirl.com. I came across this ministry of Leslie Ludy by accident almost ten years ago - and I haven’t stopped following it ever since.

Thanks to Set Apart Girl, I also met Heather Cofer (well, at least virtually), an exceptional woman of God whose writings have always given me courage when I needed it, strengthened my walk with Jesus and helped me in times of trouble. When I found out that Heather was going to publish her first book, I immediately knew that I wanted to read it asap.

The name of Heather’s first book is Expectant. You’re right - it’s about pregnancy. Although I am not pregnant (and have never been yet), I consider this special season very important. And thanks to the book, I learned a lot more than I expected.

Expectant discusses all aspects of a pregnant mama’s life - e.g. relationship with God and her husband, her health or fear that a woman may feel before giving birth. This book is so much more than just another theoretical guide - it offers many practical tips that will help you not just survive, but thrive during pregnancy. I definitely recommend it to all pregnant mothers. However, I think that all women would benefit from reading it, because Expectant truly is full of wisdom.

Heather Cofer is a wife and mother of four with a passion for encouraging others to love Jesus with all their hearts. She is a regular contributor for the ministry of Set Apart Girl, as well as a guest writer for several other ministries.
